what is the definition of a

Chingona?

Chingonas come in all shapes, shades and sizes. A chingona is defined as a bad ass woman who empowers, inspires and leads. A woman that chooses to live life on her own terms and is the maker of her own camino. She never settles for less, even if that means she has to put in overtime to accomplish her goals.

Every life lesson, along with passion and fire is what fuels her soul. She is a genius at multi-tasking and is never afraid to use her voice. Su familia y gente are the most important to her, along with her cafecito. A chingona is proud of who she is and where she came from. Be on the look out for the next chingona president. 🌹

Chingonas
For Change

Today, if you were born in this country from immigrant parents or grandparents, they’d often encourage you to utilize the opportunities that they didn’t have. You’d often hear them saying to you – no te dejes, you have rights, MAKE YOURSELF HEARD.

Most immigrant families, came from struggle and extremely humble beginnings. That struggle they went through became the chingona life lessons for all of us. They taught us to be leaders, not followers. To use our voices for good and to always remember that chingonas never follow the social norm, they follow what they believe in. Si se puede! 🙌🏾

women’s rights

On August 18, 1920 the 19th amendment was ratified and women were given the right to vote. This came after hundreds of years in which women and even men, organized, petitioned and picketed to bring public awareness of the injustice against women. 100 years later and here we are today - still fighting for equality, justice and against racism.
